伝統的な浮世絵からインスピレーションを得ているというHaiokaは、近代的なエレクトロニック・ミュージックに独自の日本的な解釈で取り組み、過去と未来、自分の祖国と世界を繋いでいる。彼はデジタルな楽曲に、生の琴やギター、フィールド・レコーディングを加え、優雅でデリケートながら意志の強さを感じさせる音楽に仕上げる。ドイツのレーベルEmerald & Doreenから発表しているEPの数々ではアンビエントからダブステップまで、幅広いスタイルを取り入れているが、そのすべてにおいて原点となる場所がブレることはない

2014年11月、世界中から6,000通の応募があった中の60人に選ばれ、レッドブルミュージックアカデミー2014に参加。2015年3月、アメリカ・オースティンで開催される音楽と映像、インスタラクションの祭典”SXSW 2015″への出演。ダンスミュージックバンド”BREMEN”、”The KAH”のメンバーとして活躍。2013年9月、ドイツ・ベルリンのレーベル”Emelard & Doreen”から”Blowin’ In The Wind Of Love EP”をリリース。個人名義”Haioka”でのエレクトロニカプロジェクトを本格的に始動。
2013年：
9月27日にリリースされた”Blowin’〜EP”は発売前からヨーロッパ各国のラジオ局でのヘビープレイ。ドイツの音楽配信サイト”whatpeopleplay”ではエレクトロニカチャートで1位を獲得。以降、定期的にEPやリミックスを発表し続け、各作品が発表されるたびにチャートイン、世界中の音楽レビューサイトで特集されている。
2014年：
4月、活動の場を世界に拡げ、シンガポール日本大使館が運営するJapanCreativeCentreにて、書道の永田文昌、現代墨アートの中野康弘と共に”NHN” というエキシビションを2週間に渡り開催。期間中、毎日スペシャルライブを披露。さらにシンガポールのナイトクラブでもプレイ。3時間のロングセットは会場のリクエストを受けてさらに1時間延長された。
6月にはイタリア、フェイレンツェの庭園で開催された日伊文化交流イベントにてヘッドライナーとしてライブ。
11月、東京で開催されたレッドブルミュージックアカデミー2014に参加。
2015年：
3月にアメリカ・オースティンで開催される音楽・映画・インスタラクションの祭典”SXSW 2015″へ出演。オフィシャルアーティストとして本国の審査を通り、日本人としては異例の2日間、2ステージを行うことが認められた。
5月、待望のデビューアルバムを全世界リリース。iTunesエレクトロニックアルバムチャートでは11位を記録。さらに国内のフェス”Rainbow Disco Club”、”Re:birth Festival”に出演。
同5月、神戸にて初開催となった”TEDx KOBE”にゲストスピーカーとして登壇。自身の音楽と日本文化の繋がりをスピーチし、楽曲演奏のパフォーマンスも行った。
6月、東京・増上寺にて開催されたイタリアのハイブランド”FURLA”の秋冬新作を発表するエキシビションにて、本国イタリアからの指名を受け、建築家エマニュエル・ムホーと共にインスタラクション、音楽ディレクションを手がける。
7月、ドイツ・ハノーファーにて開催されるアートの祭典”Festival Theaterformen”に出演。メインアクトとして、90分のスペシャルロングステージを披露した。
11月、再び東京・増上寺にて開催されたイタリアのハイブランド”FURLA”の春夏新作を発表するエキシビションにて、建築家エマニュエル・ムホーと共にインスタラクション、音楽ディレクションを手がける。
2016年：
6月、年内のアルバムリリースを発表し、先行シングル”Now And Zen”をリリース。また長野・こだまの森にて開催されたフェス”TAICO CLUB”に出演。

About HAIOKA

“Shintaro Haioka is a man who is deeply in tune with his cultural identity. Inspired by traditional Ukiyo-e art — a style that roughly translates to “pictures of the floating world”– Haioka offers a distinctively Japanese take on modern electronic music, and one that rationalises the past with the future, and his nation with the world. He supplements his digital compositions with live koto and guitar and the result is airy and deliberate, delicate and decisive. His string of EPs for the German label Emerald & Doreen brush up against a wide variety of styles — from ambient to dubstep — while never abandoning their point of origin.”

Shintaro Haioka, a Red Bull Music Academy 2014 Tokyo alumnus, is active based in Tokyo. He describes Japanese souls by mixing Japanese traditional sounds with electronic sounds.
Since 2006, he has been an active member of Japanese electronic bands “BREMEN” and “The KAH”. The bands had some gigs at some big music festivals in Japan. They played: SummerSonic, HACIENDA OISO Fes, NAGISA, and more. He started this solo-project in 2012. Soon after his debut, his demo tracks were accepted by Japanese traditional artists and he played at some galleries with their installation.
2013:
In September, he released the first conceptual EP “Blowin’ In The Wind Of Love” EP on Emerald & Doreen Records (Berlin,Germany). The EP was ranked No.1 on whatpeopleplay Electronica topseller chart. He is releasing some EPs and remix tracks from that time onwards.
In November, 2nd EP “Harumi” was released.
2014:
In April, had the exhibition “NHN” at “JapanCreativeCentre” by Japan embassy in Singapore. He is also a member of a Japanese Arts project called “NHN” with a Sho-dou(Japanese calligraphy) artist “Bunsho Nagata” and a modern sumi(Japanese ink) picture artist “Yasuhiro Nakano”. He played everyday at the exhibition while the 2weeks. And played at the local night club in Singapore. The 3hours log set was extended 1hour by the request from the club and the clouds who excited by his playing.
In March, 3rd EP “Rei-Row” was released.
In June, had a gig at Giardino dell’ArteCultura in Florence, Italy. The gig was held as the culture exchange event of Japan and Italy. played as the headliner of the event.
In November, graduated RedBullMusicAcademy 2014 Tokyo.
2015:
In March, played at SXSW 2015 in Austin,US. Almost artists and bands has 1stage, but He had 2stages for 2days.
In May, had a performance at “TEDx KOBE” which is official licensed by “TED”. He talks about the meanings of his music and the traditional of his country, and played his music.
Also in May, The debut album “From Ash Hill” was released. It ranked 11th on iTunes Electronic album chart. and played at Japanese big music festival “Rainbow Disco Club” and “Re:birth Festival”
In June. directed the music for Italian brand called “FURLA” fall winter 2015 collection exhibition at the one of the biggest Japanese temple “Zojo-ji”, Tokyo.
In July, went to Hannover, Germany for performance at “Festival Theaterformen” as a main performer. played 90minutes special long set.

2016:
In June, Haioka announced his new album will be released in Nobemver. “Now And Zen – single” was released. And Haioka had perfomance at Japanese big music festival “TAICO CLUB”
